This article serves double purpose: To popularize this quote as well as pay my tributes to Mr. Li.
Yangtze and Yellow rivers are two rivers around which Chinese civilization is centered since quite some time. They are an important piece of imagery and propaganda. You can see them flowing with vigour in the official version of Chinese Anthem and the communist party propaganda.
Yangtze and Yellow rivers may dry up, they may freeze, people may drain them off, they may change course but one thing that they will never do is to flow backwards. It is not in their nature to flow backwards. I want my values to be such, they may be weak, and imperfect but they must always get stronger and steadier. This is a growth mindset that is available to all and not the fixed mindset that is available to a select few.
Just by listening to him, you could tell that Mr. Li Keqiang never belonged to politics nor could he thrive there. We lost him last October and I will never be able to meet him.
